MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN
European Accelerationism is a movement to deregulate and save Europe
Manifesto
This manifesto is continually crowdsourced by tens of thousands of people like you on how to save Europe.

π 1. Reduce regulatory burden for startups
Europe should reduce the regulatory burden for businesses, streamlining the process of starting and growing companies, and encouraging innovation. By exempting businesses with annual revenues below β¬10 million from complex regulations like VATMOSS, GDPR, and the EU AI Act, we empower entrepreneurs to focus on creating great products and reaching market success without being weighed down by compliance.
π 2. Make skilled immigration easier, unskilled harder
Europe should prioritize making immigration seamless for highly skilled workers and entrepreneurs, offering them and their families the opportunity to live and work in any European country with competitive tax incentives. This way it can attract the best talent from around the world to come build in Europe.
πͺ 3. Repeal the cookie law
Repeal the cookie consent law, as it imposes unnecessary costs on businesses, creates a poor user experience, and completely fails at its goal to meaningfully enhance privacy protections. It also makes Europe a running joke.
ποΈ 4. European Inc: a single pan-European business entity
Europe should create a single, EU-wide business entity that eliminates the complexity of dealing with 27 different company registration requirements. Starting a business should be as easy as clicking a button online, without needing physical offices, notaries, or lawyers.Update: This is now being worked on at eu-inc.org
β’οΈ 5. Secure Europe's energy future with nuclear
Nuclear energy is one of the most sustainable and safe sources of energy available to humanity, yet it has been unfairly vilified for decades due to misinformation and outdated fears. In an era where Europe must reduce its reliance on fossil fuels and ensure energy independence, nuclear power offers a reliable, low-carbon solution capable of providing clean energy for generations.Modern advancements in nuclear technology have significantly enhanced safety measures, making it one of the safest energy sources available. It is time to embrace nuclear energy as a cornerstone of Europeβs energy strategy, to secure our future, protect the environment, and lead the way in innovative, sustainable energy solutions.
π΅ 6. Tax discount during startup phase
New European businesses should receive a discount of 0% corporate tax for the first 3 years, allowing them to focus on innovation without the pressure of financial strain. This also makes Europe instantly one of the most attractive places in the world to start a business.
πΈ 7. Tax stock options when sold, not when exercised
Europe should change its tax policy on stock options to tax them only when sold, not when exercised, so that it can compete globally in attracting top talent and entrepreneurs. Taxing stock options at the point of exercise creates significant financial pressure for employees and founders, who may not have liquid assets to cover the tax. This discourages risk-taking, limits the appeal of startup equity, and ultimately stifles innovation.
π 8. Embrace AI and technology, don't fight it
Europe should see tech and AI not as enemies but as crucial for its survival. While Europe currently lags behind, it can turn the tide by fostering an environment that encourages innovation rather than stifling it with premature regulation. AI can revolutionize industries like healthcare, education, manufacturing, agriculture, energy and of course software, and Europe needs to be at the forefront of this change.
π£ 9. Champion free speech, don't censor it
Europe should champion free speech as a cornerstone for shaping the future. Free speech is not an enemy of progress but a catalyst for new ideas and innovation. By protecting the freedom to express diverse viewpoints, Europe can create an environment where groundbreaking ideas flourish just like they did in Europe just a few centuries ago. A commitment to free speech ensures that the brightest ideas, even those that challenge the status quo, can shape the future of Europe and its place in the world.
βοΈ 10. Reform bankruptcy laws to empower entrepreneurs
Europe must modernize its punitive bankruptcy laws, which discourage risk-taking. By prioritizing restructuring over liquidation and protecting entrepreneursβ personal assets, it can foster a culture of innovation and give failed startups and their founders a second chance to thrive.
π 11. Make English the primary language of the European Union
English should become the primary language of the European Union because it is the only language that the majority of Europeans can understand or speak at least at a basic level. Unlike German or French, which are limited to specific regions and are not widely spoken outside their native countries, English has become the de facto lingua franca of Europe due to its use in education, business, and international communication.Clinging to languages like German or French for administrative purposes excludes a significant portion of the population and creates unnecessary barriers. Adopting English as the primary administrative language would promote efficiency, unity, and inclusivity across the European Union, reflecting the reality of how Europeans already communicate with one another.
English should also become the official second language in every EU member state, making it mandatory to write and speak well in all schools from a young age.
π 12. Teach AI and tech in European schools and universities
Lastly, to ensure the long-term prosperity of the Europe, Europe should teach tech, coding, and AI in all schools and universities. By equipping the next generation with these skills, Europe can secure its place as a global leader in innovation.Achieved until now
eu/acc has directly advised and contributed to Mario Draghi's European Competitiveness report which was presented to the European Commission in September 2024.

A few weeks ago Mario Draghi asked my recommendations for his report that came out today about European competitiveness
I had a call with him and summarized my problems with doing business in the EU
I wrote this which is included in the report presented to the⦠pic.twitter.com/rliDxZqk02
In January of 2025, many of those report's recommendations have been formalized as the European Competitiveness Compass:
"Europe has everything it needs to succeed in the race to the top. But, at the same time, we must fix our weaknesses to regain competitiveness. The Competitiveness Compass transforms the excellent recommendations of the Draghi report into a roadmap. So now we have a plan. We have the political will. What matters is speed and unity. The world is not waiting for us. All Member States agree on this. So, letβs turn this consensus into action."
β Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission
It is time to restart Europeβs innovation engine.

We have the Compass.
We have the political will.
Now, what matters is speed and unity.
Because the world is not waiting for us β https://t.co/4iollrSWxi
The theme is accelerating Europe:
The leaked EU draft from yesterday said ACCELERATE six times
β @levelsio (@levelsio) January 30, 2025
And literally is all about cutting red tape
Who knows if it'll actually lead to something but at least the people in the European Comission now received the message
Nice start π

We know the European Commission is great at writing reports, but it's about taking action and actually passing laws to deregulate, which hopefully is the next step!
In February 2025, there was a eu/acc AMA: How can we save Europe? on Product Hunt to answer questions and collect ideas.
How can you help?
